How long do I learn piano chords perfect before moving on to another key?

I started with the C string and now I have to learn the sharps. I do not feel that I am willing to learn from these, however, if the agreement is indeed C sink in, that said I will not be learning of each month for both. The only rule is to learn the ropes until you know them.
